Lancaster calls Lancaster, Priory, Lancaster
Lancaster
Stephen Eckard
"Replete with atmosphere of the past, Eckard writes his notes on a tombstone whilst looking over the linoleum factory which is the city's biggest employer at the present time. Around the old city has grown the modern industrial area and the factories in which cotton, silk, furniture, etc. are produced. Though most of the population are now engaged in industry, Lancaster is still the redistribution centre of a large and wealthy agricultural area."
From a single request originating from station WTAG, Worcester, Massachusetts., has grown a long series of town to town broadcasts in the North Amercian service of the BBC. The most recent programme was made in Lancaster, England for Lancaster, Massachusetts by Stephen Eckhard, Amercian-born producer of the BBC. The progamme was broad cast in non-advertising time.
